Nording Hunter 2024 Longhorn Rustic

Inspiration for the pipes in our Hunting Pipe series is taken directly from wildlife and nature, especially from conspicuous animals with unique and recognizable “features” – and not necessarily a huntable animal.

This year (2024) our inspiration comes from the fabulous Texas Longhorn – an American breed of beef cattle, characterized by its very long horns and its diversified pattern and coloring of the hide.

The hide colors vary from an all-over pattern of black and brown spots to large patches of brown surrounded by black spots on the light hide.

The shading and combination of colors means that no two are exactly alike (just like the Hunting Pipe 2024)

The horns are often very long. They can span more than 8 ft (2.4 m) from tip to tip.
The shape of the horns is often in the form of a long gentle curve from the head to the tip – similar to the stem of a typical “Churchwarden” pipe.

We have sourced briar blocks with a grain pattern simulating the random pattern of the hide and we are stating in a matching color-scheme to “imitate” the Texas Longhorn – and of course, our choice stem has a look similar to horns of the Texas Longhorn.

Longhorns are usually very calm and docile by nature – virtues that characterizes the smoking-style of a Churchwarden pipe, also known as a “Reading-pipe” or an “Armchair-pipe”.
